Over the last two weeks, Hillary Clinton has dramatically stepped up her support for Democratic candidate Barack Obama.  Spending time in locations from Michigan to New Hampshire, Clinton has focused on debunking the perception that those who believe in the need for greater gender equality should vote for the McCain-Palin ticket.  While lauding the accomplishment of having a woman VP candidate, Hillary prompted the audience at a firefighters memorial to think about who would be a better choice to protect their families, evoking memories of her February "3 am red phone" ad, in which she effectively impugned Obama's experience and know-how with the regard to foreign affairs.
However, Hillary has seemingly put these intra-party squabbles behind her to focus on seating a Democrat in the Whitehouse.  In fact, the USA Today reported that she has raised over 8 million dollars for Obama since July.  And while this figure may seem like pocket change coming on the heels of the 700 billion bailout, it affirms Hillary's commitment to pass the baton of her constituency on to the Democratic ticket.

While I am glad to hear that Hillary is stepping up her campaigning for Obama, I sure haven't seen her in the lime light since the DNC. Has Sarah Palin stolen all of her press time or is she just not really campaigning all that enthusiastically for Obama? It is nauseating to juxtapose Clinton and Palin when considering the intelligence, knowledge and qualification of the pant suit versus the pretty face and red heels of the skirt suit, who apparently only knows one Supreme Court case. I'd sure like to see Hillary back out there if only to put a face forward that conscious women can be proud of.

Certainly this can not come as a surprise to anyone; though Hillary tried to get the support of women during the primaries and pre-DNC campaigning I can't imagine that being her top priority. I feel like she was just trying to get those extra votes. I think they referenced to this on the first SNL with "Palin" how "Hillary" just wanted to win as her, not as a woman.

I honestly doubt that Hillary will be able to get back many of the votes McCain has gotten through Palin. The Democrat's best bet is using sexy John Edwards.

Hillary's new campaign and publicity strategy is interesting with the creation of HillPAC (www.hillpac.com). "HILLPAC is committed to electing candidates who are dedicated to the principle that by coming together and working as a community, we can improve opportunity and security for all Americans." It seems Sen. Clinton has dramatically embraced her role as large Democratic presence and power broker. She has therefore taken 16 Democrats in the upcoming election (Obama, Senators, Representatives), and will work to support them under the Clinton name. It's an interesting switch of tactics for someone so used to fighting for herself.

Hmm Stein, Could Clinton become the next Teddy Kennedy? It appears that she is settling in.

btw folks, what do you think about Patraeus for 2012? Just throwing it out there... President-General has a nice ring to it.

Well, Samir, it worked for GW. (The first president, not the current one.)
