Post Debate Interview with Hillary

In an interview with Hillary Clinton after the debate, she, as expected, praised Obama for the "command that he has" and the "commitment that he displays.  But when it came to talking about McCain, Hillary laid it down pretty hard.  In response McCain's comment that "I am not President Bush", Hillary stated that "it's a little hard to buy that.  Obviously not the same person, but he has voted with President Bush about 90 percent of the time".  As for the economy, Hillary blamed the republican's policies for significantly contributing to the problem.
The interview also touched on Hillary Clinton's plans for the future.  When asked whether or not Hillary would be willing to leave the senate to join Obama's cabinet if he was elected,  Clinton reaffirmed her commitment to being in the senate as she believes that the senate needs all the democrats that they can get.

I wouldn't put too much confidence in Hilary turning down the role of Senate Majority Leader if she had the chance. I also think that were she to become majority leader, she and Obama would end up making a killer team on a political level. Both are very astute when it comes to working the system, and they're both smart enough to work out the differences behind the scenes and make it look like they agree on everything.

I would definitely agree with Mr. Shulman's assessment that Sen. Clinton would love the position of Majority leader. It would be interesting for the two Congressional Democratic leaders would be women. Sen. Reid has done a solid job as Majority leader but has not been the inspirational presence to draw media attention. They could also possibly make Sen. Durbin Majority leader and make Sen. Clinton Majority Whip.
However I would not be surprised if Clinton is offered the position of Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. I personally believe she can do more by becoming a media fixation in the Senate and bringing public attention to the actions of Congress rather than a Cabinet position.

I agree with both Mr. Shulman and Dan because if Hillary were to accept a position as either Senate Majority Leader, Majority Whip, or Secretary of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, then she would gain more publicity throughout Obama's first term, if he is elected, and this could help her if she decides to run in the next Presidential Election. Even though I believe Hillary is still a little bitter about Obama winning the Democratic nomination, she would and has set their small differences aside in order to support the Democratic Party. If Obama is elected and does not do as well as expected, then Hillary would be in a good decision once the next election rolls around to clutch the Democratic nomination.
